Western Group and EU challenge Tunisia

Canada, speaking also on behalf of the European Union, United States and a number of East European Countries, at the beginning of the closing plenary
made a strong statement and criticised the human rights situation in Tunisia. It explicitly referred to the right to freedom of expression and said it expects Tunisia to eliminate all grounds for concern that had been raised after recent incidents in Tunisia, but also during the PrepCom. The Western Group demanded from Tunisia to guarantee the unhindered participation of all NGOs and their members. This would be the only way to make sure that this will be a summit in Tunisia, not on Tunisia...
